Featuring soaring guitar solos, catchy melodies and a punishing downbeat, Stereotype Drive is a four-piece rock band that unapologetically calls back to the glory days of Rock 'n Roll.
Cisco Romero (drums), Bob Doughty (lead guitar) and Dillon McDonald (lead vocals/bass) made up the now dissolved Mad September from 2007-2012 - dropping the curtain when Dillon relocated to Oregon after falling for a girl.
In 2017, Dillon finally came to his senses and returned to Colorado and the group started rehearsing again in its home base of Fort Collins, Colorado. The three recruited Dillon's long-time friend and writing partner Andy Rodgers (rhythm guitar/backup vocals) to round out the crew and Stereotype Drive was born.
The band immediately began writing new material, while maintaining some of the high-energy songs from the Mad September catalog. In February 2018, the band entered The Blasting Room studios to record its first EP, "In the Key of F U." Part 2000's Alt Rock with a dash of Queens of the Stone Age, Stereotype Drive is reintroducing aggressive, melodic guitar rock to an increasingly limp, hipster era of DIY acts with stringed instruments and bad vocals. KTCL's Alf put us in rotation on his locals only program in March 2018 by introducing the world to "Addicted."
We hope you enjoy the product of our blood, sweat and dreams.
